The act of living in Zimbabwe is something of a gamble at the moment, so you might think that there would be very little appetite for visiting Zimbabwe’s casinos. In fact, it appears to be operating the opposite way, with the crucial economic circumstances leading to a bigger eagerness to gamble, to try and discover a fast win, a way out of the problems.

For almost all of the people living on the abysmal nearby earnings, there are two common styles of gaming, the state lottery and Zimbet. As with practically everywhere else in the world, there is a national lotto where the chances of succeeding are unbelievably low, but then the winnings are also very high. It’s been said by financial experts who look at the concept that many do not purchase a ticket with a real belief of winning. Zimbet is centered on either the local or the UK football divisions and involves predicting the outcomes of future games.

Zimbabwe’s gambling halls, on the other shoe, pamper the exceedingly rich of the nation and travelers. Up until recently, there was a very big tourist industry, built on safaris and visits to Victoria Falls. The economic woes and connected bloodshed have cut into this market.

Among Zimbabwe’s casinos, there are two in the capital, Harare, the Carribea Bay Resort and Casino, which has five gaming tables and one armed bandits, and the Plumtree gambling den, which has just the slots. The Zambesi Valley Hotel and Entertainment Center in Kariba also has just slot machines. Mutare has the Monclair Hotel and Casino and the Leopard Rock Hotel and Casino, the pair of which have table games, slots and video poker machines, and Victoria Falls has the Elephant Hills Hotel and Casino and the Makasa Sun Hotel and Casino, each of which offer slot machines and blackjack, roulette, and craps tables.

In addition to Zimbabwe’s gambling halls and the aforementioned talked about lottery and Zimbet (which is very like a parimutuel betting system), there are also two horse racing complexes in the nation: the Matabeleland Turf Club in Bulawayo (the 2nd city) and the Borrowdale Park in Harare.

Since the market has deflated by beyond forty percent in the past few years and with the associated deprivation and conflict that has come about, it isn’t known how healthy the sightseeing business which supports Zimbabwe’s gambling halls will do in the in the years to come. How many of the casinos will survive until things get better is merely unknown.
