The general scarcity in the numbers of, Mozambique’s casinos is in a sense kind of questionable, in one way or another.

In years gone by, the country was a place where many South Africans would travel to to be away from the exceptionally prohibitive principles on gaming (and, it has to be said, mixing with other races) that they had at home. So, you could count on somewhat of an expanding spot to satisfy that tourist business.

At the same time, maybe it is not really a bewilderment. The region is truly the most pauperized in the world, having gone through a distressing civil war (followed by crushing floods) from which it is still, very slowly, rebounding. This might make a spot less of a vacation focal point, although there is today a favorable display along a couple of the state’s stunning beaches.

It is added to that credible that regionally at a minimum, Mozambique’s casinos have had to compete with many others in the recently liberalized South Africa, which is inclusive of the famous Sun City founded by the Kerzner family organization.

Here is a list of Mozambique’s casinos:

Maputo: Polana Casino Hotel

There are 78 slot machines and also video poker games, five tables of American roulette, 4 blackjack tables, also a poker table.

Namaacha: Sol Libombos Hotel Casino

There are 40 slot machines, American roulette, as well as two tables for poker as well as punto banco.

It is thought that over time the full tourism industry in Mozambique will progress adequately. While the local languages are, clearly, African, there is also the balance of Portuguese from the old colonial power and the current and growing awakening of English, both from South Africa and as part of the worldly phenomenon. The country is considerably cheap (naturally, as it is extremely poor) and as above, has some of the most stunning beaches across the globe, fronting onto the Indian Ocean. Those are the class of elements that make tourism representatives drool, and as the country elevates out of its current slump, it’s likely that not only will tourism expand, but that the list of Mozambique’s casinos will grow longer too.

While the country is doubtful to ever recapture its disposition as a location for partying South Africans, as there are now other options closer to home for them to relish in, the growth of a long distance tourism industry is being planned. This would be to cater to Europeans looking for winter sun, as a break from the gloominess of the Northern Hemisphere winter. Plus, obviously, the most elite prawns (shrimp) over the world come from just offshore, in the Mozambique Channel.
